The City of Sheboygan is a thriving, progressive city that enjoys a diverse population of 49,793 residents. Sheboygan is 15 square miles, located in southeastern Wisconsin, adjacent to Lake Michigan, and is 60 miles north of Milwaukee and 60 miles south of Green Bay. Elevation is 635 feet.

The City is Sheboygan County’s largest and Wisconsin’s 13th largest city. Moderate growth is attributed to a range of new and existing housing options including waterfront condominiums and affordable single-family houses. Sheboygan boasts a high quality workforce with an excellent work ethic. In 2007, Sheboygan’s unemployment rate was 4.10% as compared to the U.S. average of 4.60%. Additionally, job growth is positive at .76%.

Sheboygan has one school district (Sheboygan Area School District) consisting of four early childhood centers, 16 elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, one success academy and one alternative school. Sheboygan is also home to the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan, nearby Lakeland College and Lakeshore Technical College.

In 2007, Morgan Quinto Press ranked the Sheboygan metropolitan statistical area as the 6th safest overall in the nation!
