Mission Statement
The Finance Department manages the financial information and safe guards the assets for the City of Sheboygan according to accounting guidelines and current laws.  This information provides answers to the various governmental agencies and departments along with the taxpaying public.

Vision Statement
Our vision is to transition the City of Sheboygan into a more efficient Government by enhancing financial reporting and budget analysis.

Functions

The Finance Department oversees all of the city’s financial functions. These include: the collection, disbursement and accounting of all monies received in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; the investment of cash balances; the development and administration of operating and capital improvement budgets; the administration of a centralized purchasing system; business license; parking ticket administration; the development of various rate and fee studies; the issuance of new debt instruments, delinquent personal property taxes, special assessment payments, dog & cat license registration fees, housing rehabilitation loan payments, business development loan payments.
